Einstein once wrote in a letter “I want to know God’s thoughts—the rest are details…” Of course what Einstein meant by this statement has been widely debated. I think it’s about being receptive to the Ultimate Reality—looking for what is Essential—not getting lost in the world’s noise. Drilling down deep into the substratum of life and receiving what God is saying and doing for you in this moment.
Ironically the mine’s secrets are best observed in life’s particularities. It is a call to pay attention to the details of life as heard in the sage’s words,
Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun. Even those who live for many years should rejoice in them all… (Ecclesiastes 11:7-8)
So can we gather our strength (and courage) to…
Look up.
See the sun.
Feel its heat.
Rejoice in the moment that is given to you right now. It is sweet. Pleasant. Whatever your age. It doesn’t matter. Receive this day. This moment under the sun.
Be grateful.
Now.
I had to smile....being grateful was my word to a Muslim man I met today while at an appointment. After a long battle with Covid etc he was theirr for a medical test. I really wasn't up for the chat. But I listen on and it was alot. I said sir, I'm a Christian but can I pray for you. And the prayer of gratitude and healing was it and I said you being through so much....use it and have faith that this will past and share your testimony as alot of people have issues. But it's tuff to be grateful at times and when the pressure mounts we might want to be like Einstein.. but wisdom must prevail despite stupidly I do ask questions but the Holy Spirit is so awesome that He will teach and comfort us like a child with their why.
Beautiful piece. Simple and sparking
