This week I offer you this quotation from Jean-Pierre de Caussade’s Abandonment to Divine Providence:
The present moment is always overflowing with immeasurable riches, far more than you are able to hold. Your faith will measure it out to you: as you believe, so you will receive… Every moment the will of God is stretched out before us like a vast ocean which the desires of our hearts can never empty, but more and more of it will be ours as our souls grow in faith, in trust and in love.
Jesus invites us to lay our burdens at his feet and we will find rest for our souls—suitcases of cargo in exchange for his restful shalom. Sounds like something worth pursuing. What do you think?
Hi Denise, Thanks for sharing your comment on ‘lightening up”—yes, in our crazy times we all have a need to do so! Thanks for taking the time to do so and a ‘shoutout’ to your radio broadcasts on such a pertinent theme!
Hi Alan, Nice to be included/invited. This post was very interesting to me as I am coming up to the last of a 3 part radio series on the difference between "Burden-bearing" and "Load-carrying". My guiding words for 2022 are "Lighten Up!" Blessings to you brother.
