The women leave the tomb running in haste. Jesus is risen and others must be told the Good News. Death has been defeated so “Run, run, run! And spread the news that life overcomes death and the grave is not the end of the line”.
It’s a joyous scene. Young love. No one is stuck in the past. New paths emerge even as Jesus greets the women on the road with a smiling “Rejoice!” And yes, keep running, telling, living, hoping and defeating everything that smirks of cynicism, narcissism, and egotism. Love conquers everything and everyone. All are invited regardless of one’s differences concerning ethnicity, socio-economic status or gender (Galatians 3:28).
Our need is to wake up from our post-Easter drowsiness. Let’s wake-up! Open up our eyes! Shake off the vestiges of defeat, despair, and delinquency! Come to life empowered by the grace of resurrection!
Robert Morneau encourages us in this direction as he writes:
We must shake off our comas and stupors and lazy sleeping. We must arise and go with the risen Lord toward the fullness of light and peace. Time and eternity intersect; finitude and infinity lose their boundaries. All creation is gathered to a great oneness—now! (Robert Morneau, Ashes to Easter)
Like Tracy Chapman says, we need to wake-up and run. It’s our time to “run, run, run” and usher in the revolution of love!
Let’s run the race of grace and never give up.
Light and love await us…
Hey thanks Bobbie! Blessings!
